Some of you who subscribe to "Ralph's
e-vents" received an e-mail on April 14, 2010 from John Allen, a
HROA member, regarding the recent candidate forum for Sheriff held
at Heritage Ranch.

Town Hall Meeting re: Security |
I want to thank the Heritage Village Seniors for
hosting the Sheriff's Candidate Forum, Tuesday
night. We had a good turnout and good questions.
According to the candidates, it was the second
largest turnout since the forums began back in
November, 2009.
A question was asked about HROA Security and how
they conduct business. Most, if not all ,six
candidates spoke of liability. The feeling was we
all should be concerned if Security is handcuffing
and detaining people (by definition, traffic stops
are considered a detention).
The message from the candidates was clear. Those of
us that live here and pay association dues should
address these issues and bring them before the Board
of Directors. So let's take their advice. We need to
get everyone who is concerned about the direction
HROA is taking, not limiting it to Security, but to
include our Management and Board of Directors, and
have (for lack of better description) a Town Hall
Meeting. It's time we stand up and tell the Board of
Directors what we want -- not what they want us to
say and think.
I can tell you for a fact that, during my last four
years on the Board of Directors, the feeling from
management was that there were only a very few
members that had issues with the way HROA conducted
business. I've never agreed with that, but getting
people to come forward was very difficult, so my
arguments fell on deaf ears. However, based on what
the six candidates for the office of SLO County
Sheriff recommended Tuesday night and the recent
comments in Ralph's E-Events, I believe the time is
right.
If there is enough interest, I don't mind getting
this meeting started. This message is the start of
things. My email is
qbird24@gmail.Com.
I would like to hear from anyone who is interested
in having a meeting and discussing their concerns in
an open forum. Anyone, including our GM and BofD
,are welcome to attend as residents of HROA. There
will never be a better time. Our next sheriff has
told us we should do this, and we should take his
advice and bring our concerns before the Board of
Directors.
