Main Marina
Major parking lot upgrades were completed recently at the Main Marina which allows for more parking. There are also two overflow parking available.
Beyond the parking lot area and the 6-lane launch ramp is the "Point". During El Nino years, this area can be completely under water. During years of less rain, this area is used for picnicking, passage to boat slips and additional vehicle/trailer parking. For safety reasons, the Point is closed off to vehicle traffic each night at 10:00 p.m.
At the Main Marina you will see several privately owned docks. Additional privately owned docks are located up Snake Creek. These privately owned docks will eventually be phased out, as ownership is not transferable. As of June 2010 there are 39 privately owned docks registered through the Association Office. The hope is to have more boat slips built eventually to accommodate everyone needing a place to moor their boat as the privately owned docks are phased out.
Future Second Marina
The future Second Marina is located off of Waterview Drive behind Tract 466 Condominiums and the Country Store, Deli area. The Second Marina is presently available for day beaching, running your dogs, etc. and will eventually be built out through a development agreement to include: an additional launch ramp, parking, restroom facility and courtesy dock.

Launch Ramp at Main Marina
The 6-lane launch ramp does a great deal of business during holiday weekends and hot summers. During these peak seasons, the Association assigns extra staff to assist members and guests in expedient launching.
All property owners may use the launch ramp as one of their many amenities free or charge.
Property owners can also reserve launch privileges for their guests by calling the Gatehouse, which includes the payment of a fee to launch. (Note: Empty guest watercraft trailers are treated the same as if a watercraft were on-board and will be charged the same fee.) Up to a thirty (30) day pre-registration is encouraged to insure entry. Early registration also provides a discount off the normal guest fee. Please remember that all payments are to be made by check only.
Boat Slips
The 80-boat slips located at the Main Marina are leased out to the membership through the Association Office. The lease is currently a five-year lease which is due to expire in 2010. Any person giving up their lease early, will go to the next person in line on the waiting list. If you think you might be interested in leasing out a boat slip, please sign up through the Association Office. The current turn-over rate is approximately three (3) years from sign-up on the waiting list. At the condominium area, there are additional boat slips reserved for the condominium residents only. (The photo to the left was taken in July 2002, when the water level was unusually low.)
Parking at the Main Marina is reserved for the membership
only. All vehicles without a current HROA decal or placard are
subject to a parking
citation in order to allow membership priority parking. There are
presently two overflow parking lots off of Heritage Road, just before
turning left onto the Marina Road. These are dirt parking lots available on a
first-come-first-serve basis. |
